About me
I am a graduate of Norwich University Of The Arts. I completed a BSc in Games Development achieving a 2:1.I really enjoy the technicality that goes into software and video-games. This is because I think all types of software and games need a solid technical base that is well understood, to be able to be built on well enough to sustain success.I always love knowing why and how when it comes to digital practises. I always find myself curious and always wanting to know more. I have experience with a wide range of technology from video-game development, to server software management via SSH, DNS management and reverse proxies, and a lot more.I spend a lot of my time tinkering and learning as much as I can about the world of computing and software. I have a keen interest in server work and often work with private servers either for myself or for others, and I find a lot of joy in it.I have a keen interest in learning more about programming as even though I hold deep skills in both Python and C++, I have never focused a project on my programming strengths alone.If you are interested in contacting me, please feel free to contact me by pressing the Email button on any of the pages on this website.

Games and Environments
Project: Viking Environment
This project was for an environment that had two physical areas that are on different levels. For this environment I really wanted to create something that looked nice in the engine that I enjoyed using (Unreal Engine 5.)I decided to do a Viking inspired environment with a river flowing through it. This means that I could pick some nice trees that would be found in a Viking setting, as well as some ruins that are meant to signify the old civilisation that once roamed the area.We were also required to include an easter egg which I added in the second higher area of the environment. This is also where I put my Mace animation.

Project: Mace weapon animation
This project is for a mace animation that was then to be used for the Viking environment I created. Firstly using Autodesk Maya, I created the models and animated them. The idea was the chest would drop open, and the mace would come out and put itself together in the air. Although the textures are not advanced, I believe that the end result looks good.After making the animation in Maya, we had to export them and then try and integrate them into a game engine of our choice (I chose Unreal Engine 5.) In this game engine the animation then needed to have a trigger the player could use to start the animation. This you can see in the video below, as well as images of the creation process.This project was used to give me as a developer more experience with how animations are made, so that they can be properly implemented into games I develop in the future.
Project: C++ Text Adventure game
This is my first technical project completed while at university. This was a project designed to learn the fundamentals of C++ and apply everything learnt in a simple text adventure game. Project: Cyberpunk Card Game
This is a second project that I was assigned for my first unit in my first year of university. We had to make a board game in a team. I was in a group of two and we decided to create a cyberpunk themed card game. This is because we both like Sci-Fi and thought a cyberpunk themed card game could be a bit of fun.In this project we needed to make the game itself with a physical prototype. We needed to make a pitch that we presented and a journal to reflect on our week to week work. We also had a crowdfunding campaign document. This is a document we treated like a Kick Starter which is full of advertising and ways to try and entice people to want to play/buy our game.

Fear The Fire
This is one of the two main projects in my second unit in my first year of university.
We had to solo develop a game in unreal engine using blueprints to show off a knowledge in progression theory. We had to make a game that had the player feel like they were progressing and getting somewhere and the player has a certain finish and ending that they can work towards.My Idea for the game was to make a horror game. As I thought that would be an interesting idea to cover and it shouldn't be too technically difficult to pull off to a high standard.The game has the player use a flashlight to navigate a maze-like level with twists and turns that contain an interconnected puzzle with some platforming. There is an enemy in the game also called flames. They come in many different shapes and sizes and you need to avoid them at all costs.
The itch page for the game is available above.This project was really fun, and I would say overall across the year I learnt the most from this project when it comes to technical knowledge in a game engine.

DoneJohn
DoneJohn was my primary solo project for my second year at university. Looking back at it after graduating, it was by far some of the most fun I have ever had making games.DoneJohn is a procedurally generated dungeon-crawler game with upgrades that you can use to make John more powerful. He uses his gun (which is also his hand) to kill enemies and break open barrels to get more coins, and the upgrades available range from doing more damage, to getting more coins.This project taught me tons and really cemented my pre-existing knowledge that I gained from, college and my first year of university. I also learnt a lot of new skills with UI elements, and persisting variables through different levels, and through fully fledged save systems.I always had a fascination with procedurally generated games, so being able to create that myself was rewarding and very interesting.Even though the game doesn't look the prettiest, you can download and play the game for free using the button at the top of this page.
RTS Tech Demo
This was my first project for my 3rd year of University. This project was used to showcase my technical knowledge that I had gained from my 2 years previous, and to build on top of that knowledge experimenting with something new.Because at the time I did not know much about RTS (Real Time Strategy) games, I decided it could be a good experience to learn new methods of developing and programming for a genre I am not familiar with.This tech demo features procedural map generation with random resource nodes, as well as unit selection and control, building, and more.
